  1. viral or bacterial infection: Changing seasons usually bring with them viral and bacterial infections that can cause food poisoning. A stomach bug can lead to nausea right after eating, lasting 24 to 48 hours. However, these infections come with a slew of other symptoms like muscle and joint pains as well. Avoid eating out if you can. Eat only at places you are assured of hygienic practices being followed in handling food.
  2. Food allergies: Food allergies tend to have a different effect on everyone. They escalate with time and age and usually vomiting is considered to be the first symptom of the beginning of an allergy. It is very important to take it seriously and stop consuming the food causing it.
  3. stress and anxiety: Your body can have physical reactions to mental stress and anxiety if not treated well in time. According to doctors, the main reason for experiencing physical symptoms is the brain’s response to loads of hormones emptied into your bloodstream by your endocrine system that forces your body to react in this manner.
  4. Acid reflux: Sometimes because of heartburn that is caused due to extra spicy and greasy food there is a burning sensation in the upper chest causing nausea. Acid reflux happens when a large amount of acid in the stomach is splashed back into the oesophagus. It is generally a harmful condition.
  5. Irritable bowel syndrome or IBS: This is a fairly common condition among young people today due to the high consumption of junk food. IBS happens due to stool blockages in the gut, causing bad nausea. IBS is a more serious condition, though than this eagle’s eye view possible to present here. Your doctor is the best judge.
  6. Overeating: Once the stomach is full but you continue to overeat, nausea and ensuing throwing up are bound to happen. Doctors believe nausea happens when mostly we indulge in eating too much if we are bored or the food is very tasty.

Having low or high blood sugar causes your stomach to slow down the process of digestion, leading to the condition.
